Northern Lights offer

Sometimes we need darkness to notice the light. That is certainly the case in Svalbard during the dark season when there is no difference between day and night. All that illuminates the landscape is the Northern Lights, starry sky and moon. This provides a unique opportunity to experience the majestic Northern Lights! Our Northern Lights package includes accommodation, an activity and dining in Longyearbyen.

The offer is valid for the period 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026. The offer does not apply between 22.December 2025 – 04. January 2026.

Advent trip or January trip?

The absence of the sun creates a unique atmosphere in Longyearbyen. Although it’s dark around the clock here from 14 November to 29 January, you may be surprised by how much the snow and natural light sources illuminate the surrounding landscape. The dark season is the peak season for festivals and events in Longyearbyen, and the kind-hearted locals create a great atmosphere as the local restaurants and pubs fill up. Experience Advent in Longyearbyen or visit in January, which is a great time to experience the local culture, buy local souvenirs and enjoy delicious food.

Join us on a snowmobile safari to hunt the Northern Lights

Naturally, our Northern Lights package includes snowmobiling, which is one of many highlights when visiting Svalbard. The feeling of speeding through the Arctic wilderness in the winter darkness is an exciting and memorable experience. Your guide will lead you through the Advent Valley to a fascinating ice phenomenon known as a pingo. We stop here for a hot drink and storytelling. Take time to appreciate the Arctic silence and gaze up at the sky, while experiencing the cold, frost mist and endless landscape. We will hunt for the green, graceful Northern Lights well away from the light pollution in Longyearbyen. The absorbing silence is truly a unique experience.
